I shouldn't be excited about this, but...
"Dan, I was at the KC convention where you spoke. Just wanted to say thank you for all that you shared with us. That whole conference reminded me of why I went into ministry. What an awesome time.
I really appreciate your style of speaking too. I have to say, I've read your books, but somehow the hair caught me off guard. I had to look and ask "Is this guy for real?" But when you opened by sharing what hair gel you use, it put me at ease. Anyone who doesn't take themselves too seriously is OK in my book. And your whole delivery is just...well...real. Thanks for your honesty, your minsitry, and your hair! : )
BTW-did you notice there was a disco ball in that room... : )"
That last line is a reference to one of his books, where he makes fun of himself for putting a disco ball in a worship space in an early attempt to think outside the box.
AND I GOT A RESPONSE!!! He wrote back on said blog:
"David - yes, I saw the disco ball. I didn't want to comment out of respect to the church (although I certainly wanted to!)
I am glad the hair became your friend."
Just thought I'd share that with all you fine peeps.

What's "Asking Good Questions?"
Ah, good question!
Heh...heh...
Anyway, Asking Good Questions, if you've been waiting on an explanation before risking clicking a link which could contain viruses, spyware, heresy, or whatever keeps you from doing such things, is my attempt at something more like, but not really, a traditional blog. If you like run-on sentences like that one, you'll probably love Asking Good Questions. But it's not intended to just be an opportunity for me to yammer on endlessly with no heed to the opinions of others, communal accountability, or proper grammar. It is intended to be a launching point for discussion about issues that cut to the core of faith, life, and everyplace they intersect. So I'll kick things off with a thought on the main page, but my hope is the real meat will be in the comments, as we bounce these questions around. If you want a better explanation, surf over there and click "The Point of this Blog". So for those of you who were worried, it's safe to click the link to your left, unless you just intend on living an unexamined life and faith. In which case, you have my permission to stick with the stories.
Yes, I know It's wildly out of date. I started it back at the beginning of the summer, and then got way too busy to keep up with it. But I'm leaving the option open, since part of my seeming randomness may yet lead me back there. So, read what's there so far, add your own comments, and watch this site for more. Enjoy!
